About Us

Nosilla Organics was launched in early 2007 with a desire to create a different kind of clothing company, one that lived up to our ethical ideals in clothing production. This meant better for the planet and kinder to the people. It wasn’t a difficult decision to work with certified organic cotton, our fabrics had to be soft and sustainable. However, finding the right production facility proved to be more challenging.  We were confronted with the same challenge time and time again. We were asked to simply take the word of a facility manager or owner that the human rights of producers and workers were being respected. We needed some kind of guarantee.

This began a global search to source fabric that was not only certified organic but also produced following international fair trade standards.  Everyone who came in contact with a Nosilla Organics garment had to have been respected and paid fairly, from the farmer planting the cottonseed, to the worker adding the garment snaps.  We needed an independent guarantee that our ethical ideals in clothing production were being implemented and we knew others would expect the same guarantee. To assure ourselves that these ideals were being met, we sought out internationally recognized organizations that would give us the peace of mind we so needed. It took a year but...

All of Nosilla Organics garments are made using 100% SKAL Certified Organic Cotton and are produced with GOTS Global Organic Textile Standard), Organic Exchange and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certifications. In addition, our cotton is Certified Fair Trade by FLO Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International). To give peace of mind to our customers and support the non-profit organization that helps regulate fair trade standards, Nosilla became a licensee with TransFair Canada By doing so, Nosilla Organics pays 2% of all sales to TransFair thus supporting the very organization that is the voice for so many producers and workers in developing countries.

Today, Nosilla Organics is the first company in North America producing a line of Certified Organic baby clothes carrying the Fair Trade Certified Logo.
